Spotty Otter at the Great Yorkshire Show
Posted by Spotty Otter on 23rd Jul 2024
We are so excited to share our incredible experience attending the Great Yorkshire Show for the very first time! The atmosphere was electric, filled with the hustle and bustle of families, farmers, and outdoor enthusiasts, all eager to explore the best of what the agricultural world has to offer.
Our Spotty
Otter stand quickly became a hub of activity. From the moment the gates opened,
the damp and cold weather certainly brought the customers rushing in to buy
waterproofs for their kids. Throughout the week we were greeted by a steady
stream of visitors curious to learn more about our brand and products. Our
vibrant display showcased our popular waterproofs, adventure gear, and the
latest additions to our collection. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with
many parents, grandparents, and little ones excitedly picking up new gear for
their adventures.
Meeting Our Community
One of the highlights was meeting so many of our loyal customers in person. Seeing kids arriving at our stand wearing their Spotty Otter gear, and proudly showing off their well-loved jackets and boots was heart-warming. We loved hearing stories from families about their outdoor adventures and how our products have been a part of their journey. It reinforced why we do what we do and gave us a renewed sense of purpose.
A frequently asked question at the show was whether we
would ever bring back our pink and purple waterproofs. We heard from many
visitors who fondly remembered these colours and hoped to see them return.
While we can't make any promises just yet, we can tell you to "watch this
space!" We're always listening to our customers and considering how we can
best meet your needs and preferences.
One of the standout moments was the popularity of our
vibrant red waterproofs. We sold a lot of these items and had the pleasure of
chatting with several farming families. They loved the bright red colour
because it made it easy to spot their children from a distance. One customer
remarked, "I absolutely love the red. I know I'd be able to see my kids
from across a field." He also praised the reflective trim on our Patrol
and Adventure collections, emphasizing its importance for children living on
busy, working farms where visibility is crucial.
Spotty Otter Mascot
Another
star of our booth was our very own Spotty Otter mascot, who quickly became a favourite
among the kids. The mascot made several appearances throughout the day, posing
for photos and spreading cheer. Seeing the joy on the children’s faces as they
hugged and high-fived their new furry friend was lovely. Our Otter mascot has
since been named Otto and is off on a summer of adventures with our ambassadors!
Exploring the Show
Apart from managing our booth, we took the time to immerse ourselves in the
wonders of the Great Yorkshire Show. The event was a treasure trove of
agricultural marvels, showcasing everything from impressive livestock displays
to delicious local produce. We had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic
people and discovering other small brands that were showcasing their unique
products. We also loved Spotty Otter spotting as we walked the show ground, seeing your little ones happy, warm, dry and enjoying the mud was fantastic!
Looking
Forward
Our first experience at the Great Yorkshire Show was nothing short of amazing. It provided us with a fantastic platform to connect with our community, introduce our brand to new families, and engage in meaningful conversations about outdoor adventures. We left the show with full hearts and a sense of excitement for the future.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, shared their stories, and made our first show experience unforgettable. Here’s to many more adventures ahead with Spotty Otter!
