As the long days of summer gently give way to crisp mornings and golden leaves, we find ourselves at a special moment in the year, the Autumn Equinox. A time of perfect balance, when day and night are equal, and nature begins its slow shift into the cosy embrace of autumn.

At Spotty Otter, we love this seasonal transition. It’s the perfect excuse to slow down, explore nature’s changing colours, and embrace all the muddy, leaf-kicking, puddle-jumping fun that autumn brings!

What Is the Autumn Equinox?

The Autumn Equinox usually falls around September 22nd or 23rd, marking the official start of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. From this point on, the nights grow longer and the days a little cooler, but that doesn’t mean outdoor adventures have to stop!

In fact, it’s one of the best times to get outside with your little explorers.
