Our Story
Spotty Otter was founded in 2007 by outdoor enthusiasts (and parents), with a passion for the great outdoors and a desire to design and produce their own high-performance outdoor clothing brand for children. Not to distribute anyone else’s clothing, not to downsize adult clothing, no compromises.

Spotty Otter’s mantra since Day One, is at the heart of everything we do.
We fast became recognised for excellent quality, design and a sense of fun, by parents, industry experts, outdoor magazines and reviewers alike, but much more importantly to us, by our most demanding and honest customers - CHILDREN!
From wonderfully quirky beginnings (early Otter headquarters included a disused ballroom and repurposed coaching inn!), Spotty Otter Central is now a carbon neutral, purpose designed building in the heart of the Peak District. As well as being a great central distribution point which enables us to reduce needless mileage and emissions as much as possible, it’s great outdoor country where we can head straight out of the door and road test our kit!
Our small, outdoorsy, Spotty Otter team are located around the country and smart remote working technology enables us to work greener. We get together for team activities, brainstorming, testing, launches and events (and arguing about whose turn it is to buy the biscuits).
